Talk at Creative Mornings - What Comes Before the Garden?
CreativeMornings is an international event that brings people together to talk about creativity and human, inspiring themes.
Each month, a theme is chosen for the meetings, and this past Friday’s theme was Blossom, for which I gave a presentation titled What Comes Before the Garden?

Book release in São Paulo: Azul de lá
Book release at Miúda Bookstore of my first solo book, the silent book Azul de lá , published by Abacatte. I had previously held a release in Santos, my hometown, and now in São Paulo. At the same event, there was also the release of the book No meio do quintal, a piscina , by Rita das Fitas and André Luis Oliveira, illustrated by Ana Laura Alvarenga. It was a lovely afternoon of conversation and gathering with people who love and make books.

My silent book: Azul de lá
"Azul de Lá is a poetic challenge that goes beyond the eyes. The eye will need to fly with both desire and fear. Simone Matias knows how to weave narratives out of the substance of wind. There is much impulse in these invisible words. There is a silence that screams through the metal bars of the cage. Everything in Azul de Lá is a surprise, and yet we are the bird, we are the cage, we are the sky. The life contained within these limits is made of choices that are not expected

Talk: Visual Literacy and Awakening the Eye
The talk was part of the program of the GOMO Festival of Creativity, promoted by Juicyhub, in Santos, São Paulo.
I spoke about visual narrative as a language that uses not words, but forms. Image reading opens up spaces in our imagination and creates sensitive, affective, symbolic, rhythmic, and temporal experiences that shape our sensibility.
