Simone Matias

Illustrator based in Santos, Brazil

I was born in Santos, Brazil and discovered the art of illustration during the interchange program “Au Pair in America” in 2000. The kids I looked after had many books that I used to read to them and I felt in love with the beautiful pictures. I’m an illustrator with more than 60 published kid’s books in Brazil and 12 years of experience.

I have studied illustration at Scuola Internazionale d'Illustrazione – Sàrmede, Italy (2006),  Art history and Esthetics Appreciation at Pinacoteca de Santos (museum), in Santos SP, Brazil (From 2010 to 2012) and live drawing and painting at The Florence Academy of Art, New Jersey, USA (2017).
